FASTrack: Foundations of Academic Success Track

Community

Game Night - Minute to Win It-1

Our peer mentors help plan various events throughout the year giving our FASTrack students the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with their peers and FASTrack mentors.

In conjunction with the academic support FASTrack provides, we strive to build a community for our students. FASTrack Peer Mentors play an active role in each section of EDHE 105: First Year Experience classes. Peer Mentors, who are former FASTrack students, also plan a variety of events, including community service experiences, giving FASTrack students the opportunity to engage socially and develop lasting friendships. Indeed, students in FASTrack report quickly finding friends and study partners, even while maintaining the flexibility to be active across campus.

FASTrack LLC

Many of our students choose to live in the FASTrack Living Learning Community in Burns Hall. Any student who has been admitted to FASTrack will be eligible on a first-come, first-served basis until all the available spots have been filled. FASTrack students may also choose housing in traditional residence halls. The FASTrack LLC requires no additional housing application. Again, FASTrack students are not required to live in Burns, it is merely an optional benefit.  “With FASTrack, the most helpful thing was getting to know the students I had all my classes with. It made it easier to get together study groups and it helped to have the support of other students who were going through the same things.” –FASTrack student
